Custom Modifications / Alterations
Additional Bottom Strap -
One of the many complaints from soldiers is when the ruck is 'loaded' and full, the back sags down below the bottom of the frame.
We added an additional strap attached to the bottom of the frame allowing the bag to be cinched from the bottom up. This creates a 'floor' and when the strap is used, the bag should not ever be lower than the bottom of the frame.
When the strap is not necessary, it is easily wrapped and secured behind the kidney pad. Out of the way and not hanging down and flapping everywhere.
Altered the Position of the Y-Strap
One of the many complaints from soldiers is the Y-Strap at the top of the shoulder straps. This strap continually rubs and creates hot spots and blisters along the neck. However, the strap is crucial to keeping the ruck at the top of the frame.
We re-routed the Y-Straps and connected them to the frame behind the frame pocket on the ruck. This keeps the ruck high and tight but allows the shoulder straps to be positioned away from the neck preventing rubbing and discomfort.
Leveraging the Bottom Ruck Cinch Strap
Another complaint - the ruck is not tight to the frame and moves around with or without weight.
We 'cranked' the cinch strap to the bottom of the frame and secure the cinch strap to protect it from coming undone.
The bag is stretched from the top of the frame to the bottom. Sits high and tight.
